Design Consultation and Site Survey

The design process begins with the initial consultation on site to discuss your requirements, share the ideas and agree the extent of landscape design solutions suitable for the space. Following this meeting a design brief and proposed design fee breakdown will be prepared and submitted for your approval.

Every garden needs to be measured to record existing features and conditions to enable an accurate outline design.

Very large or complex sites will require full topographical survey which is not included in fees. If you currently building your new house, you should be able to get the site survey in CAD format from your architect. Alternatively, I can obtain the quotation from the professional surveyor on your behalf to carry out the site survey for you.

Landscape Design Plans

Once  the survey drawings are completed the outline design proposals can be prepared. It will be presented to you in form of 2D plan of proposed landscape layout supported with set of images explaining the ideas behind the design. This is the first draft of the design which allows for further discussion and adjustments during the follow up meetings.

The next stage is the preparation of Detailed Master Plan. This includes set of  detailed construction drawings, elevations,  specification drawings and setting out plants  in CAD.

This drawing package allows for scheme to be accurately costed and build correctly.

Detail Planting Plans

The final stage of the design process is preparation of detailed planting plans. These will be presented to you in the form of 2D colour plan supported with plant images, to help you better understand the proposed planting scheme. It contains full plant specification and a plant schedule to allow you to order exact number of plants required. If your contractor needs help with setting the plants out on site, it can be arranged.

In addition to the 2D Landscape Design Plants 3D sketches or photorealistic rendered images of  garden design can be prepared. This will help you to visualise your future outdoor space. The 3D modelling is especially recommended for split-level sites.
