About Edyta

The best part of my job is arriving at a new project, meeting new people for the first time and discovering the potential of the site, walking around and talking about their ideas and also bringing to light some new possibilities that perhaps they hadn’t thought of.  I love the challenge of tailoring the design to suit individual needs and fitting the scheme into the existing and surrounding landscape. I am practical designer with plenty of experience on the construction side as well as the design side, I enjoy preparing all the pieces of information in such a way as to make the construction process as straightforward as possible. Yes, I’m very lucky, I love my job.

When I reflect back, it all started in my childhood. Spending summers with my grandparents I was often found constructing models of miniature houses from the wood in my grandads shed or making detailed drawings of flowers. Granny had me working in the garden, pulling weeds and tending to her vegetable garden. I loved these summers and whilst I was unaware at the time they would appear to have influenced my carrier choices throughout my life. When I had to decide on the direction of my higher education I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to be. Initially I thought about Architecture, studying Fine Arts was very tempting too, but I couldn’t ignore my love of plants and the landscape and its ever changing nature. Then I discovered the newly opened Landscape Architecture Department at the University of Sciences in Warsaw I just knew it was right for me.

I completed my higher education in Poland and came to Northern Ireland to work.  Initially under the expert tutorage of John Campbell at The Landscape Centre Donegore, I have been designing projects for both domestic and commercial clients across Northern Ireland for the last 15 years.  I am convinced that my fascination with plants, an appreciation of good architecture and my artistic skills gave me the solid base I needed to become a successful designer.

All that said I needed my fantastic clients who allowed me to be a part of their landscape projects.

I remain thankful to them all.
